CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It's a female obsession: sexy backs!  But for Debbie Thrap, one thing got in the way of a sexy back. The problem: "Back fat," Thrap said.

Those unsightly rolls that billow from your bra line and ruin your silhouette are a common problem among women over 40. 

"You can't exercise your skin," says Dr. Joseph Hunstad of the Hunstad Center.

Hunstad invented the newest procedure that eliminates the fat and rolls that have caused so many women to stay buttoned up and covered up. It's called the Bra Line Back Lift. 

The cost: about $7,500, according to Hunstad's staff.

Before

In the two-hour procedure, Hunstad follows lines that he's drawn on a patient's back. He'll cut precisely in the line that is in the middle of a patient's brastrap and everything in the middle is cut out. 

The average patient will lose about 7 inches of back fat. 

"We're going to eliminate this fold and this fold too," Hunstad says as he pinches the fat on Thrap's back. 

Thrap says she's worked out and dieted, but has never been able to get rid of the rolls around her bra line.

"I think I'll be really excited when I look at my back in the mirror," she said minutes before she underwent the surgery.

After

Hunstad says patients have had fantastic results.

"When they come back and say it's the best thing they've ever done, it makes it great," he says.
