CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control accidentally euthanized Will Harlee's dogs. Now, they are asking him for money.

Harlee's two pit bulls got out of his back yard through a broken fence. Animal control picked them up and was supposed to keep the dogs until Harlee fixed the fence.

But when Harlee went to retrieve his pets, he found out they had been euthanized by mistake.

Animal control admitted the mistake and apologized.

But now, Harlee says he has received a $100 bill in the mail. Animal control is charging him for picking up the two dogs and a violation of the county's leash law.

Harlee says he can't believe he got a bill, considering animal control admitted killing his dogs.
