KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. -- Two teens were arrested Sunday after an early morning assault in Kings Mountain.
Officers responded to a home on Second Street at 5:10 a.m. and arrived to see a man and woman had been beaten with a metal object, according to the police report.
Later on Sunday police arrested a 15-year-old and her 19-year-old boyfriend for the assault of her mother and another man.
The mother was released from Kings Mountain Hospital with minor injuries, but the man was flown to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He is listed in critical but stable condition after receiving several blows to the head from the metal object.
The boyfriend, Edward Eugene Ruff Jr. of Kings Mountain, and the female victim's daughter were both charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon and injury to personal property, among other charges.
Ruff Jr. was placed behind bars at the Cleveland County Law Enforcement Center on a $500,000 secured bond. The daughter was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
