FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- A Fayetteville police officer is in the hospital after being injured in a car crash.
Police say the officer swerved to avoid another vehicle early Friday, ran off the road and struck a tree.
No one else was hurt.
The officer was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Police have not yet released the officer's name or details on the extent of the injuries.
