CONCORD, N.C. -- The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing another woman to death near Concord Monday night.

Deputies charged Dakota Castner, 22, with murder after she stabbed  Kadi Ann Paden to death outside of a mobile home off of Untz Road around 8 p.m. Monday.

Witnesses at the scene told NewsChannel 36's Greg Argos that Castner and Paden,19,  got in a fight over a man the two had been dating.

Castner pulled out a knife and stabbed Paden in the neck during the fight, according to witnesses.

"All I heard was her say, 'you cut me.'" said neighbor Regina McCloud. "And she made it back to my building. It was sad. It was sad knowing that I'm sitting here trying to help her and I have to sit here and watch her die. It's not right. It's not right at all."

Deputies said they arrested Castner around 1:30 a.m. near the crime scene after several hours of searching for her.

If anyone has information about this crime they're asked to call the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office at 704-920-3000.
