GASTONIA, N.C. -- Gaston County police searched Hunter Huss High School Friday morning after the school received an anonymous tip about a threat.

The school is located at 1518 Edgefield Avenue in Gastonia.

The tip came in at 8 a.m.  Officials say the tip was about a possible assault involving a knife.

A metal detector was brought in and all students were searched at the start off the school day, according to the school district.

Officers did not find a knife, but one student was caught with a BB gun.

Schools officials say they called families about the situation.

The search was finished before 10:30 a.m. and school is back to normal.

No arrests have been made.
