MOORESVILLE, N.C. --  Police are seeking the public's help in finding who robbed the First Citizens Bank branch at 241 Medical Park Road, off Interstate 77 Exit 33, shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.

The robber walked into the bank wearing all black, including a heavy coat with the word "Security" on the front and back.

The assailant showed a handgun, demanded money from a teller and was given an undetermined amount of cash and a dye pack, which activated in the robber's vehicle.

Police said the robber is black, 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 11 inches tall and of medium build. He drove away in a silver sports car, possibly a Hyundai or Lexus. The vehicle's tag had a blue line across the top. The car was last seen heading north on U.S. 21.

Police released to the media several surveillance videos of the robbery in progress. Anyone with information is asked to call Mooresville police Detective Ashley Patrick at 704-658-9029.
