RALEIGH, N.C. -- Prosecutors are trying a second time to prove a Raleigh man killed his pregnant wife, after a jury deadlocked last year in the case.
Opening arguments were scheduled Monday in the trial of 37-year-old Jason Young.
Young is charged with fatally beating 29-year-old Michelle Young at their home in 2006.
Last June, Wake County Superior Court Judge Donald Stephens declared a mistrial after a jury couldn't reach a verdict.
Jason Young is free on a $900,000 bond. He says he was out of state on a business trip when his wife was killed.
Attorneys say they think the retrial could take up to six weeks.
