Two arrested after bank robbery in southeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two men were arrested for robbing a bank in southeast Charlotte Monday afternoon.

The incident took place at the Bank of America located at 4401 Randolph Road near the Cotswold Shopping Center.

AirStar 36 was over the scene as one suspect was chased and taken into custody around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Eastway Drive and Shamrock Drive in northeast Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Detectives say a masked man entered the bank demanding money.  Once he received the cash he jumped into an awaiting vehicle.

An officer spotted the getaway car and two suspects were arrested. 

NewsChannel 36 has learned the two men arrested were Randy Meeks, 53, and Treymayne Thomas, 19.

Both men are charged with armed robbery of a business.
