CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Traffic is flowing again after an accident involving a tractor trailer shut down Interstate 77 southbound for several hours Sunday.
The accident happened just before 11:30 a.m. Sunday near where the interstate intersects with I-485 in north Charlotte.
Traffic was rerouted down U.S. 21 to avoid the accident.
Around 2:30 p.m. the interstate was re-opened to traffic.
North Carolina Highway Patrol says one person was taken to a hospital, but did not have the extent of that person's injuries.
