Hectic holiday travel in full swing at Charlotte Douglas

NBC Charlotte's Evan West shares his tips for hitting the road during the Thanksgiving break.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The holidays might bring out the best in people but holiday travel can bring out the worst.

"Horrible," said one passenger.

The traffic is inside and outside but no matter the wheels, the airport is full of all the feels.

"It's so hectic, I've never seen so many people in my life!"

It's bound to happen with 100,000 people passing through Charlotte Douglas on a daily basis during this holiday weekend.

TSA suggests arriving two hours prior to your flight, they also recommend you check your bag after packing it for any firearms.

TSA officials have already recovered 58 firearms at checkpoints in 2017.
