CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Bobcats waived guard Will Conroy and forward Donta Smith on Friday to reduce the roster to 16 players.

Conroy and Smith averaged less than a point a game in five preseason games.

Conroy joined the Bobcats after averaging nearly 13 points and seven assists last season for the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA's Development League. Smith came to Charlotte after two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks.

The last roster move to get to the regular-season limit of 15 will be the toughest for the Bobcats. All the remaining players have guaranteed contracts for the coming season.

The Bobcats, 0-5 in the preseason, are off until Tuesday when they face Indiana in Columbia, S.C.
