6NEWS An Elvis inspired Panthers fan made a jumpsuit and wrote a song about his favorite team.
The Panthers playoff run has some people breaking out their microphones. They're coming up with their own unique Panther songs.
In a way it’s like the Carolina sports version of American Idol. The range in talent and variety is great. But there's one man who, well, let's just say he's a bit more colorful than the others.
He's got the shoes, the glasses and of course the suit he made himself.
Only thing is, he doesn't quite have the words down yet. His name is Renelvis, AKA the Philippines Elvis, and his buddy Wade Jones wrote the song.
“It was good,”Panthers fan Chris Jones said. “I mean I'm excited anytime somebody comes along. “I've never seen a Panthers Elvis jumpsuit. I mean, that's one of a kind.
On the Penner and Mac show on WFNZ radio, the Renelvis reception was not quite as warm.
“We just got a text message from Pricilla she's embarrassed by that song. I mean that's how bad that song is,” the radio hosts said.
Then again these guys weren't really impressed by most of the songs they've heard.
“It’s dangerous. You’re right. This will encourage any old Panthers fan out there to make his own song,” the radio hosts said.
The range of music varies from rock to funk and don’t forget the hip hop.
Five-year-old Emauri Singletary and his dad Jermaine are bringing back a song from the Panthers’ last Super Bowl run.
“We're supporting the team and we just want the fans to kind of get ramped up because the Carolina Panthers are going to win the Super Bowl,” Jermaine Singletary said.
