Bobcats lose 3rd straight, and 11 of last 13

WASHINGTON -- Antawn Jamison scored 22 points and DeShawnStevenson added 20 points to lead the Washington Wizards to a 110-95 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday night, their second win in 12 games.
Leading 70-69 with 3:33 to play in the third quarter, Washington went on a 14-2 run, led by five points by Oleksiy Pecherov to end the third quarter and start the fourth. The run gave the Wizards an 84-71 lead with 10:53 remaining.
After the Wizards' decisive run, Charlotte never got closer than seven points in falling for the 10th time in 11 games. The Bobcats were without Gerald Wallace, who suffered a concussion Friday. Wallace will be out at least two weeks after playing just his second game since missing five with a strained right foot.
Without Wallace, Jason Richardson took over as Charlotte's main offensive thrust. He had 25 points, but just four in the fourth quarter. Emeka Okafor had 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Washington committed a season-low seven turnovers -- just three in the game's final 30:20. Brendan Haywood added 15 points and a career-high five assists.
The Wizards were missing Caron Butler, who's missed 11 of 13 games with a strained hip flexor. Before the game, Gilbert Arenas, out more than three months after surgery on his left knee, revealed he's not close to returning. Arenas had targeted March 2 as his comeback date, but acknowledged he can't play then, and has no idea when he will.
The game was close early, and Stevenson hit two free throws with 5:42 to play in the third quarter to put Washington ahead 66-64 before going on its decisive run. With Washington leading 95-87
with 4:41 left, Stevenson hit consecutive 3-pointers to give the Wizards a 101-87 lead.
Not only had both teams combined for 19 losses in their previous 21 games, but both teams suffered one-point losses Friday night, and were missing their leading scorers.
Washington is 12-3 against Charlotte -- 6-1 at home, and has won the three meetings between the teams this season.
Notes: Jared Dudley started for the Bobcats in place of Wallace. He had six points. ... The start of the second half was delayed four minutes when the net on one of the baskets was replaced. ...
Charlotte played the first of three straight away from home. They're 4-20 on the road. ... The Wizards play their next three games on the road. They're 10-17 away from the Verizon Center.
