CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two eaglets that left the hack tower last week returned this weekend for food.
“The two orphan eaglets returned on Saturday morning for a snack,” said Michele Miller Houck of the Carolina Raptor Center. “Our folks say that the report was that they returned fairly close together. They ate and left and haven’t been seen since. We think they may be hanging out together in the area and coming back for some free food.”
Kinsey has remained in the hack tower since the doors opened May 13.
“Kinsey seems to be flapping more often and flying in short hops from the perch to the tower and back,” Houck said.
CRC staff will continue put fish through a small door in the hack until all three eaglets can hunt on their own.
