CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Hundreds of women not letting a cold and windy Sunday morning keep them away from what many would consider a perfect excuse to stay inside.
Instead as many as 500 participants took part in the annual Ramblin Rose Triathlon.
"We are sold out," said Caitlin Boyd the event director of the Ramblin Rose.
"This is our first year here," she said.
The triathlon puts participants through a 250 yard swim, followed by a nine mile bike race and then a final run of 2 miles.
The youngest person who took part was nine-years-old and ladies in their 70's also took part.
In addition to Charlotte, Ramblin Rose triathlons will take place in Huntersville, Rock Hill, Winston Salem, and Raleigh.
