1 injured in accident involving 2 tractor-trailers on I-77

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One person was injured in an accident involving two tractor-trailers and three cars on I-77 north Friday morning.

The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. on I-77 north near the I-485 exchange in south Charlotte.

WCNC Traffic learned two tractor-trailers and three cars were involved in the accident. One of the tractor-trailers spilled paper along the interstate.

Medic said one person suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Carolinas Medical Center.

The accident has backed up traffic for several miles on I-77 north late Friday morning. It took crews an hour to clear the scene and get traffic moving.

All lanes were reopened around 11:15 a.m.
