SHELBY, N.C. -- Officials in Shelby are investigating three fires that broke out early Wednesday morning.
The three fires broke out at two homes and one apartment unit, according to a Cleveland County emergency official.
The incidents happened at Fredrick Street, Ramblewood Drive and Airline Avenue.
The house fire on Airline Avenue started on a mattress in the back room. A man was getting ready for work when he noticed the fire. He tried to put it out himself but could not.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire, but not before it destroyed the inside of the home.
The house fire on Fredrick Street was caused by an electrical box outside of the home, according to fire officials.
The apartment fire on Ramblewood Drive was caused by a bathroom exhaust fan, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported in any of the fires. Officials said the three fires were unrelated.
