CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Dilworth woman stuck in a swirl about an extramarital affair with CIA Director Davis Petraeus spoke of values and her fondness of Charlotte in a February interview on ‘Charlotte Today.’
Paula Broadwell is being investigated by the FBI after reportedly having an affair with Petraeus, leading to his resignation.
Broadwell appeared in an interview with ‘Charlotte Today’ host Colleen Odegaard on February to promote her book, a Petraeus biography called ‘All In’.
“Truly some of the tenants of General Petraeus’ counter-insurgency strategy applied to home or work or corporations. Be the first with truth, live our values—and I try to show that in the book,” Broadwell said.

Broadwell, a 40-year-old graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and an Army Reserve officer, spent months researching and talking to the retired four-star general while overseas.
“Over the first two years of the research our correspondence was mostly via email,” Broadwell told WCNC-TV in February. “In fact, our first interview was on a run and I brought a recorder. I thought I would test him and see if he could run and interview at the same time, but he thought he’d test me to see if I could keep up.”
The FBI discovered the affair while conducting an investigation of the former general's email. Broadwell is being investigated by the FBI on suspicion that she hacked into Petraeus' email account where she may have had access to top secret national security information.
She spoke of the access she was given by Petraeus as well.
“It was a privilege to be able to trace the war through Gen Petraes’ eyes, this revered commander, obviously, and to have the access. I took that privilege and that opportunity very seriously.”

Broadwell is married to a doctor and has two young sons, all residing at home on Mount Vernon Avenue. The home has been dark and no one has been seen since word of the affair became public on Friday.
“I’m proud of my Charlotte roots,” Broadwell said in February.
