CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A  reported fire broke out at a hotel in west Charlotte early Thursday morning.

Firefighters were called to the Double Tree Hotel on Yorkmont Road near Tyvola Road around 7 a.m after an exhaust fan caught fire and poured heavy smoke into the hotel.

The 143 guests at the hotel were evacuated while firefighters investigated the cause of the fire.

Officials let some guests back in the hotel an hour after the incident.  Officials said the exhaust fan was located on the first floor of the hotel.

No one was injured during the incident.
