HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – A crash on Highway 73 near McGuire Nuclear Station Saturday morning left a Denver woman dead, while the infant riding in a car seat in the car received only minor injuries.

The driver of the truck she hit head-on also had only minor injuries.

Kristy Renee Miller, 35, died in the wreck.  Her relationship to the baby boy is unclear.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Miller was heading towards Lincoln County in her 2006 Honda Accord around 10:45 a.m. when she drifted across the center line into the path of a Ford Super Duty pick-up truck driven by Anne Carter Jones, 56.

Jones's pick-up was towing a horse trailer.

According to a CMPD press release, Jones tried to brake and steer off the road, but Miller's car hit her truck head-on.

MEDIC pronounced Miller dead at the scene.  The baby and Jones were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

CMPD said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
