CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- All lanes were closed on Interstate 85 northbound for about 30 minutes due to a wreck that injured four people on Thursday morning.

One person became trapped in an SUV due to the crash, which took place around 9:15 a.m. just south of Freedom Drive in northwest Charlotte.

Four people are injured, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.  Two people have potentially life-threatening injuries, and two other people have non-life threatening injuries.  All four victims were taken to Carolinas Medical Center.

Several fire and rescue crews responded to the scene.  It's unclear what caused the crash.

All four lanes reopened at 9:50 a.m.
