CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte woman injured in the Boston bombings is working to help others who need medical care but don’t have insurance.
NBC Charlotte caught up with Nicole Gross Friday at Brownlee Jewelry Store in south Charlotte.
A trunk show is being held this weekend, which will raise money for a non-profit called the Care Ring Foundation.
Gross and her husband are ambassadors for the cause.
With my husband and I being living proof that life can happen and change in the blink of an eye, we wanted to really sell and share our story with everybody else to make sure that they know what it’s like when unfortunate things happen to you,” Gross said.
Gross was also presented with a custom piece of jewelry from designer Nine Nguyen.
Gross says she’s making great strides her in recovery, but she still has a long road ahead of her.
She has two more surgeries scheduled, including one early next month.
