CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A multi-vehicle wreck shut down Interstate 85 northbound in northeast Charlotte on Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred just prior to West Mallard Creek Church Road around 4 p.m. and involved three cars, including a motorcycle.
Two people are hurt, according to medical officials. One victim has life-threatening injuries while a second victim has potentially life-threatening injuries.

Three of five lanes reopened at 4:30 p.m., but traffic remained backed up for miles. All five lanes reopened around 4:50 p.m.
It's unclear what caused the wreck.
