CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Rain moved into the Charlotte region Friday and will be here for the start of the weekend, too.
The rain started falling late Thursday night across the region with a mix of sleet in part of the foothills.
Temperatures hovered in the low to mid-40s though, so nothing stuck.
A Winter Weather Advisory in place for Caldwell, Iredell, Catawba, Burke, Alexander, Lincoln and Rowan counties expired early on Friday morning. A Winter Storms Warning was in effect for Avery, Western Caldwell and Burke counties.
Saturday will be cloudy and wet with highs only in the upper 40s to near 50°. Sunday the sunshine returns along with some warmer temperatures in the upper 50s.
