CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A road rage incident on Charlotte streets left two pedestrians with injuries, according to CMPD.
The incident started late Friday afternoon when the driver of a Toyota Camry allegedly side-swiped a Ford Focus on Lasalle Street over I-77.

The impact sent the Camry into a third vehicle that had broken down on the side of the road, police say. The Camry also struck two pedestrians pumping gas into their vehicle.
The Camry and Focus continued on until pulling over in a gas station parking lot at Lasalle Street and Newcastle Street. Store employees tell NBC Charlotte the women both got out of their cars and began chasing each other and physically fighting.
Witnesses say this appeared to be a lovers’ quarrel by the way they were speaking. They also told NBC Charlotte there was a child in the back seat of the Ford Focus.
The two victims suffered broken bones but are expected to otherwise be okay. Police say one was an off-duty city employee helping a friend whose vehicle had run out of gas.
23-year-old Jessica Ekwuruibe, the driver of the Camry, was arrested and charged with reckless driving, felony hit-and-run, assault and driving without a license.
