Silver Alert issued for missing elderly Cleveland County man

SHELBY, N.C. -- N.C. Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing and endangered man.

James "Chick" Albert Tyson, 79, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some form of cognitive impairment.

Tyson was last seen leaving Camden Court in Shelby, N.C. He was believed to be traveling to the 400 block of Grant Street.

He was last seen wearing black pants, a green jacket and wearing glasses. Officials describe Tyson as a black man with a bald head and brown eyes. He is listed at 6-foot-4 and weighs about 200 pounds.

He was driving a white 2004 Acura MDX with a North Carolina tag, "2H84BP."

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Shelby Police Department at 704-484-6845.
