Amazon hiring Tennesseans and Kentuckians to work from home

If you're a Tennessean or Kentuckian who would like to work from home and are comfortable with talking to people online, you may want to check out a new job listed by Amazon.

The company is looking for customer service associates who will "think outside the box, solve problems, answer questions, and resolve concerns," mostly over the phone, according to the job application.

The position is seasonal to deal with increased demands during the upcoming holidays. The job pays $10 per hour and requires the person to work full-time for up to six months.

Amazon said seasonal employees that do well might be invited to stay with the company for long-term employment.

The application advises one obvious downside: Those in the job might have to work on some or all of the major holidays.

During peak season (Thanksgiving through mid-January), workers may have also need to pick up more hours due to business demands, but the company said associates would work no more than 60 hours a week.

Amazon said it will try to accommodate college students to work around busy school schedules.

Tennessee and Kentucky are two of 20 states the company is hiring out of -- Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Virginia are the others.

If you're interested, you can find job requirements and the application on Amazon's job portal.
