Baxter Halloween
11:24 AM EST on Wednesday, November 9, 2005
WCNC-TV premieres a new live, local program, RoadTrip EXTRA, Monday, October 31st at 4:30 from the Village of Baxter, just outside Fort Mill, SC. News anchor Chris Justice, sports anchor Chuck Howard, meteorologist Terri Bennett and Carolina Traveler Mike Redding will be on hand to meet and greet area residents and children.
Baxter Village is an innovative 1000+ acre community just off I-77 at exit 85. The layout is reminiscent of a slower, gentler time with an emphasis on sidewalks, front porches, shared open spaces and welcoming storefronts. Baxter is also home to an on-site elementary school, public library, urgent care center, restaurants, shopping and a state of the art YMCA fitness center.
Join us at the Village Green for a Halloween party complete with pizza, costume contest and hayride. Terri Bennett visits one of the local restaurants, The Inn at Baxter Restaurant & Tavern, a 160-seat restaurant featuring an open kitchen, private dining room, cigar tavern, gazebo, outdoor dining and grilling patio to watch owner/chef Frederick Bahr prepare Sautéed Duck and Wild Rice. We’ll talk with Fort Mill Town Manager David Hudspeth and Ben Cessarino of the Move Fort Mill Forward association to learn about efforts underway to revitalize the town’s one hundred year old Main Street area. And Mike Redding entertains viewers with a scary story.
WCNC-TV will be on the road with RoadTrip EXTRA every weeknight October 31st through December 1st. Future locations include the Ebenezer Grill in Rock Hill, the Aw Shucks! Corn Maze in Marshville and Carolina Place Mall in Pineville.
Directions
From Charlotte, take Interstate 77 South to Exit 85. Turn right on Highway 160. Baxter is on the left.
