High school football playoffs

11:07 AM EST on Tuesday, November 15, 2005

There is nothing like Friday nights in the fall in the Carolinas and come November the chase for state championships will be heating up as the playoffs get underway. On Friday night November 11 the 6NEWS Road Trip may be coming to your hometown to cover your hometown team’s big playoff game.

Of course in the city, all eyes will again be on the Independence Patriots as they look to continue their nation best winning streak and attempt to win their sixth straight state championship.

Kannapolis has a team that is back on track and could make some noise in the 3-A division of the playoffs along with a tough team out of West Rowan. Lincolnton and Shelby appear to be two teams on track to make a run at a possible 2-A state title as well.

The 6NEWS Road Trip could visit your high school.

South of the border it has been a down year for defending state champion Rock Hill but they are improving each week. Clover has one of their best teams in years and may do some damage in the palmetto state’s 2-A post season action.

Stay tuned to find out where the 6NEWS Road Trip will be!
