GASTONIA, N.C. – At Firestone Wesleyan Church Saturday night, people gathered to pray for a 12-year-old Jordan Mcnair.

Mcnair continues to fight for his life at Levine Children's hospital in Charlotte.  Bennie Mclannon is Jordan's grandmother. She says because of her own health issues, she hasn't been able to visit her grandson in the hospital.

She's hoping she can make a difference through organizing a  prayer vigil.

"I believe prayer does work and the more noise we make, the more it will work. I just felt like if I could get a lot of people together to make noise, it would all be okay."

Mclannon says her grandson is still in intensive care, but is now breathing on his own.
