An airline passenger is facing a felony charge after TSA officers say they found a loaded gun in his carry-on bag at the San Antonio International Airport.
As the passenger passed through a Terminal A security checkpoint on Thursday at around 6:50 a.m., TSA officers spotted what appeared to be a handgun inside a piece of carry-on luggage.
Officers pulled the Southwest Airlines passenger and his belongings aside and discovered the bag did indeed hold a loaded .22LR Beretta Model weapon. The handgun had one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine clip, officials said.
The man said he forgot the gun was in his bag.
Authorities arrested the passenger and charged him with a third degree felony.
It is the 17th firearm discovered in a bag this year by San Antonio TSA.
