GASTONIA, N.C. – Two people are facing charges of food stamp fraud after trying to sell multiple EBT cards.
The incident happened on Wednesday according to a Gastonia Police report. A woman called police after 26-year old Dawn Green and 43 year old Robert Price contacted her trying to sell the cards for $200.
In the report, Officer Wyke states that the witness called police and agreed to meet the pair at Bojangles on New Hope Road. The witness agreed to the meeting, but called police suspecting Price would be driving a stolen vehicle.
The report goes on to state the food assistance cards belonged to a man who is deceased. When authorities arrived both were taken into custody, warrants were served on Price and Green.
Price is in the Gaston County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond he’s facing several charges including possession of a stolen vehicle and food stamp fraud. Green has posted her $750 bond she also faces food stamp fraud charges.
