CHARLOTTED, N.C. -- A southern Mecklenburg barbershop will hosted a “Hair Cut/Shave-A-Thon” Sunday to raise money for domestic violence services in the Charlotte area.
Proceeds from the fundraiser at Roosters Men’s Grooming Center of Rea Village will benefit United Family Services and the battered women’s shelter.
Organizers said the “Roosters Club Cut” includes a haircut, head-massaging shampoo, hot steam towel, a dry and style, as well as a brush of powder around the neck.
The event – which will also include refreshments, darts, dice games and a raffle – was held at the barbershop on Providence Road near Ardrey Kell Road.
October is domestic violence awareness month.
