CHARLOTTE, N.C. –- The Budget Inn was evacuated after heavy smoke was found in one of the hotel rooms.
The fire happened Sunday morning at the motel on Archdale Drive near I-77. Officials say the smoke was contained to one room. Reportedly there were no injuries and the damage was contained.
No word yet on what started the fire.
