CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- As City Council prepares to pick a new mayor Monday night, the city manager is asking anyone with new information in the case to come forward.

The FBI says Cannon took bribes from undercover agents posing as developers.  They arrested the former mayor more than a week ago. He stepped down hours after that arrest.  Manager Ron Carlee made his appeal to the public during a taping of NBC Charlotte's political affairs show FlashPOINT.

“If anybody knows of anything that was inappropriate, now is the time to come forward,” said Carlee.

“There's a full federal investigation.  We're cooperating fully with it, and so if there's anything else out there, we want to know it and deal with it and get it behind us,” he continued.
