STANLY COUNTY, N.C. – Police have arrested a woman in connection with passing counterfeit money.

Officials said Heather Poplin, 31, had more than five counterfeit “instruments” when they arrested her on Wednesday.

Investigators said they were working on the case months after receiving a large number of reports from businesses who received the counterfeit money.  Their investigation lead them to Poplin.

She was placed under a $4,000 bond. She is expected to appear in court on February 11th.  She was charged with possession of counterfeit instruments.
