CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Wednesday was the deadline for the City of Charlotte to submit paperwork, saying it'll allow Google to set up a fiberoptic network here, one that could offer speeds 10 to a 100 times faster than what you can get at your home now.

Charlotte gave Google the go-ahead, and now the company will decide whether to set up a network here by the end of the year.

But why, exactly would you need internet that fast at your home?
