EAST SPENCER, N.C.-- A police officer responding to a robbery call, was shot at in Rowan County, and his bullet proof vest saved his life.
The officer was called out to an apartment in Spencer for that robbery when he met up with someone leaving the apartment.
At that point, the man ran from the apartment shooting at the officer.
Three shots were fired off and one of them struck the officer, but his bullet proof vest stopped the bullet.
The officer did not receive any other injuries.
The suspect got away and now police need your help in locating him.
The suspect is described as a black male 6'2"-6'4", weighs about 225 pounds, and was wearing a dark colored hooded coat and dark pants.
He also has a medium to dark complexion.
