ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Members of the York County Swift Water Rescue trained on Saturday.

The training was open to the public but this year only law enforcement agencies sent people for training in all aspects of swift water rescue.

Rescue Training Services (RTS) runs the event every year in basic and advanced trainees. RTS is based Out of Greenville South Carolina.

Saturday’s training is the first of two days of training at the Lake Wylie dam. Participants also took a classroom session. At the end of the weekend each participant will have completed in more than 20 hours of training.

"I would trust any of these guys to back me up," said Terri  Cook, Commander of the York County Emergency Response Team.

"I would put my life in their hands."
