CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The GAP store at SouthPark Mall re-opened their doors on Saturday two weeks after the roof collapsed.
An email sent to customers announced the store would open at 12 p.m. on Saturday “just in time for tax free weekend.”
The GAP and Banana Republic received the heaviest damage during the storm on July 20.
The GAP is opening in a new location within the mall near Belk. NewsChannel 36 has learned, The Apple Store will expand by moving into the GAP and GAP Kid’s old location next to Pottery Barn.
Monday, over a dozen stores remained closed after the heavy rains caused major damage.
It’s not clear when all of the stores will re-open.
