GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- Gun owners nationwide banded together for the “National Day of Resistance” on Saturday.
People joined one another in grassroots rallies across the country to stand up to proposed gun control legislation.
More than 100 people attended a rally in Gaston County, and they're telling lawmakers they will fight to protect their right to own guns.
“We hope that they see that we are here,” said Ashley Perez who organized Day of Resistance, “we are not going to be quiet and we are not just going to take whatever they want to put to us. We are peaceful, we are the law abiding citizens that are going to be hurt by a gun ban,” said Perez.
There were five “Day of Resistance” rallies across the state.
The Day of Resistance was created by the same group that organized Gun Appreciation day last month.
