CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Southwest Airlines will call the Queen City home this spring.

The airline announced Thursday their plans to convert AirTran Airways to Southwest Airlines in four cities.

The conversion will being April 14, 2013, and will impact Charlotte; Flint, Michigan; Portland, Maine; and Rochester, New York.

The company said AirTran Airways service will end on April 13, 2013.

Flight schedules are expected to be released on Monday, October 22.
