MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. -- All lanes on Interstate 77 southbound near the 485 inner loop  were closed Saturday night due to a vehicle accident.

State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Dispatchers say the lanes were closed roughly around 9:10 p.m.

According to Highway Patrol, a trailor came loose from the hitch on the tractor.  No one was injured in the tractor trailor incident, but the slowed traffic caused a rear end collision.

Medic says they're treating four patients, one of whom has life threatening injuries. All were taken to CMC Main.

Officials say charges will be filed.
