CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A McDonald’s employee is recovering after being attacked by a customer.

The incident happened Sunday night at the McDonald’s on Freedom drive.  The manager tells NBC Charlotte one of their regular customers ordered “fresh coffee” in the drive thru line.

According to the manager, when the woman was greeted at the drive-thru window with the fresh coffee, she became enraged and was not satisfied with the order.

The customer reportedly threw the hot coffee into the face of drive through worker.

The manager said the worker is fine, but the freshly brewed beverage was irritating her contacts.

The irate customer drove off, and authorities were called to the establishment.

No word yet on the identity of that customer, or if she was arrested.
