CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A local church plans another day of giving for those in need.

Saturday, about a hundred people showed up to sign-up for a free Thanksgiving breakfast. Those who signed up will also receive a free turkey to take home Thanksgiving Day.  The church has 500 turkeys to give away

Last year, hundreds came to the New Outreach Christ Christian Center to take advantage of the free turkey give-away.

Pastor Brenda Stevenson tells NewsChannel 36, they expect even more families this Thanksgiving, and they’re happy to be able to serve those in need.

"Things have changed and then it’s sad... and they're in line and they're here two hours early. If we start at nine some get here at 6:30," said Stevenson.

Stevenson says the church will also offer a free breakfast Sunday morning. The next oppurtunity to sign up for the Thanksgiving turkey is Wednesday, November 9.
