ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. -- A North Carolina military family is under fire for cell phone video of their two-year-old behind the wheel of a moving car.

The video was shot in Onslow County on Thursday and posted on Facebook by the boy's father.

The father is also a corporal with the marines.

The child's parents say they now realize it was a dangerous move.

“I feel bad for doing it and I wasn't thinking, we weren't thinking,” said Angelina Madrid.
“Other parents could see this, they can learn not to do this and not go through the name calling,” she continued.

“Other people have done it, I'm not saying that's an excuse for it. But they just thought it would be cute,” said Madrid.

Putting a child behind the wheel violates child restraint laws and other traffic laws. Police have not yet charged the family.
