NC's "move over" law expands to include utility and maintenance crews

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The NC “move over” law is expanding on October 1, 2012.

Starting Monday, motorist should move over to the next available lane for utility workers or maintenance crews to allow them extra space to work..

The current law only applies to emergency vehicles. Drivers who fail to move over, could face a $250 fine.
