IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. – Nearly 500 Duke Energy customers are without power in Iredell County.
According to Duke Energy, 479 customers were sitting in the dark around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The outage comes on a night when a Freezing Rain Advisory has been issued for the county.
Temperatures are suppose to drop into the lower 30s.
The outage appears to be in the south west portion of the county, along the Iredell – Catawba County line.
In a blanket, generic statement – Duke Energy officials said, “The typical reason for power outages is weather related or equipment failure. Power is normally restored within three hours.”
It was not immediately clear how long that portion of the county was without power.
