ROCK HILL, S.C. – More than 1,600 customers were without power in Rock Hill Sunday afternoon when a tree fell on a utility line following hours of soaking rain, city officials said.

The incident happened near the intersection of West Main Street and Audubon Drive on the city's western edge.

Crews were working to fix the problem around noon, but power was out along stretches of main arteries including Heckle Boulevard and Herlong Avenue.
